Do you go by your 1 day or your last day of your last period to try and get pregnant

You go by the FIRST day of your period. The first day is Day 1 of your cycle. The day it ends is immaterial.

Most women (but not all) will ovulate and can get pregnant 14 days after the first day of their period. Count 14 days from the first day of your period, and that's when you'll usually ovulate.

If you're counting days, the FIRST day of your period is day 1. The last day of your period is not relevant.

Do keep in mind that counting days is a rather unreliable way to pinpoint ovulation.

Really, what's up with you? You seem to be reading worse than ever. She IS using nothing at all to prevent pregnancy, given the fact that she is trying to conceive!

The menstrual cycle is counted from the first day of the period.

You can't get pregnant just by having a period.
