What do you think about free will - what about psychiatry and how they relate?

I'm not sure to what degree we have free will but I'm sure that it is to a smaller degree than we'd like to think it is. The brain, at the most fundamental level, is just a bunch of neurons firing and those neurons follow the same basic laws of biology, chemistry, and physics as everything else. It could be that random quantum fluctuations is what determines if a neuron fires or doesn't fire and starts the chain reaction that is a thought or idea. Or brain then internalizes the action and gives it agency so that we perceive it as a "choice" that we made.

I think we're all born into a genetic "box" that we can never escape from. We have free will within the box and that's it. The second part of your question is way too broad to make any sense of.
