A invested $800 and received $1,000. B invested X @ 10%, C annually, N 3.

A received 1,000; B received Y. At a ratio of 103:113: 103/1,000 = 113/Y; so Y = 1,097.

FV 1,097, N 3, R 10%: PV = FV / (1.10)^3, or PV = 1,097 / 1.331 and PV = 824.19

So B invested 824.19
