Simply that everything that somebody makes is designed in some way - even if they don't realise it. The decisions you take and choices you make are all part of the design process.

The term "design," which includes both conscious and unconscious aesthetics and function, applies to everything that is made by people or animals. Things are either well designed or badly designed (or somewhere in between). If you believe in a God who made the world, presumably the design was all good. Things we consider inconvenient, such as volcanoes and stinging ants, actually have their designed purpose or role to play in nature. Nature is our inner standard for beauty and usefulness.
