Question about stocks?

I am trying to still grasp on how the stock market works?

Can someone tell me how investing 10k resulted in the 480 k profit?

I thought it was the 23.05 in 2018 multiplied by 10000

2008 spent $10,000, got 20,408 shares of NHTC at $0.49/share.

2018 the share price is now $23.05. you still have the 20,408 shares, you get $470,408.

your profit is $460408 (you will have to pay tax on it!)

A chart shows that stock selling for $49/sh in 2015 and $6.89/sh today--a 86% loss. Never buy penny stocks.

Think outside your investing box, Bryce, and you may make better profit that way. Many penny stocks are not sinking ships that will always continue to sink. Many do see the light of day after sinking below the surface.

Note: It's 10,000 DOLLARS; not 10,000 SHARES of initial investment. That $10,000 bought you 20,408 shares. So....

    $10,000 at $0.49 a share = 20,408 shares

    20,408 shares sold for 23.05 = $470,408.

Subtract your initial investment of $10,000 and you come up with $460,408 profit (less fees and taxes of course.)
