When sending a letter to Slovakia, does it get delivered to the recipient or to the post office? ?

I imagine that it might vary by specfiic location, just as it does in the US. There are some towns here where there are no personal mailboxes - just PO boxes at the post office. There are other areas where there are community mailboxes - not at the post office, but also not right at your house. And then there are places where the mailbox is at your home.

That's no longer a country. It separated into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which are now separate countries. This happened in 1993.
