Are chest freezers real proper freezers? ?
Do they freeze frozen food properly?

In theory chest freezers lose less coldness when they are opened, so they are, in that way, more "proper" than upright freezers.

Chest freezers are the more efficient freezers as they trap the cold air in them whereas upright freezers lose all their cold air when you open the door and the freezer needs to replace that cold air taking more energy. Also if their is a leak in the seal around the door cold air could be leaking continuously needing the motor to run longer to keep the air cold inside and keep things frozen. When you open the door on a chest freezer the cold air being heavier than the warmer outside temperature stays in the freezer so the motor does not have to work to replace the lost cold air.
The only advantage of upright freezers is they are easier to find your frozen food as you did not have to remove half the food to find the food you want at the bottom of the freezer as happens in chest freezers.

Yes, they are better than the freezer on on upright fridge. They need to be rearranged every few months otherwise stuff at the bottom gets forgotten.

Yes, they do. You'll see them in supermarkets used as proper freezers. They are very efficient and useful in your home.

better that up right fridge freezers
why -- well cold air is heavy and when you open the lid , the cold air stays at the bottom
for upright freezers , as soon as you open the door , the cold air falls onto the floor

No, they only freeze your chest on a hot summer day!
