Is this a real Walmart policy?

Can a customer at Walmart request that a new register be opened if the lines are long?

Anyone can always ask, in any store. If there isn't an available employee to jump on another register though...

  • It's not a policy but you can ask. Their policy is that they should open more cash register lanes if there's more then 10 people in a line up, with out you having to ask them to do so.

Walmart is so short on people at the registers, good luck at even finding someone to ask. they prefer you go to the unmanned kiosks.

Sure, you can request whatever your little heart desires. If they don't have an available cashier, then you'll stand in line with everyone else.

You can request whatever you like. They might or might not accommodate you.

The lines would have to be pretty long before it became worthwhile to walk over to customer service and then wait for them to find a new cashier.

Customers can request whatever they want. A customer can request that you wear a pink and purple unicorn costume while you cashier.

"Policy" is how WalMart conducts business and trains their employees.

Sure, but they'll just say they don't have anyone.

Of course they can ask. Maybe walmart would open one, maybe not.

You can go to Customer Service, point out the jam-up & ask. That does not mean they have another cashier on duty at that time to open another register.
