The Tasmanian Devil in Looney Toons was a cartoon based on the animal Tasmanian Devil. Mel Blanc provided its voice and noises.

    a tasmanian devil

A Tasmanian Devil is a real animal, although obviously the cartoon one depicted in Loony Toons doesn't even begin to resemble the real thing. A real devil looks far more like a really angry rat, with a stubby tail and bear-like face. They're mean as hell and eat literally any other animal they happen upon.

One of the most inoffensive animals I have ever seen, not a mean hair on their body. Mostly vegetarian but do eat insects, small rodents and reptiles.
