Can Greenland survive as an independent country? Once they have removed the colonial shackles of Denmark, will they be better off joining?

I think the acquisition of Greenland might be beneficial to all concerned parties. Of course, bumbling Trump may have entirely messed up that possibility with his arrogance and malicious insults and attacks.
