Do Republicans pretend climate change isn't happening so they can turn California into a desert?

Republicans are not smart enough to grasp the complexities of climate change. The average conservative only understands the temperature where they live. That's why we always see ignorant rightists saying things like "It's 30 degrees at my house. Where's all that global warming?"

Much of California has been a desert for a long, long time. Some of the droughts in the past 1500 years lasted for ~300 years. Brush up a bit before you post.

There are some gentle souls who care about the world and are working in that area to make sure there are not more mud slides and planting trees where they can to bring down the temperatures.

      That is productive work.

Climate change has always happened. Every century for 4.5 billion years it has changed.

But since when wasn't California a desert with all the associated droughts?

Wrong. Republicans know that climate change has been going for billions of years and that there is no proof that human activity has a significant influence on it. A lot of CA has been desert for a million or more years. What caused that and how do you know that what caused it is still happening?

Ok in your case you're not pretending, you're just dumb

Because they get millions of dollars in campaign donations from the oil and gas producers. And Californians, many of whom are Republican, aren't helping themselves. I've seen L.A. traffic.

Of course the expenditures to prop up the CO2 climate myth runs to billions each year, so what's a few million to the uninformed climate alarmist sheep?
