Does anyone know what this is?

I just recently moved into an apartment and I’ve never seen something like it before. I wanna say it’s a heater, because it does get hot to the touch but it doesn’t actually warm up the room. All it does is make banging noises all day and it’s driving me crazy.

without viewing it first and asking questions of the landlord

if that being the case i agree with the respondent "SKY "

and suspect one is on a rocky road of life

Back in the early 2000 they used to exist and we had one before. My God it's a terrible heater. I can just cook eggs on it that's it but to heat the house it doesn't do the job. throw it away it's garbage.

It's a oil filled radiator heater, it's only meant to assist in heating a small room or it will run all of the time.

It's an oil-filled radiator and used as supplemental heat. Because they don't have a fan on them, they really don't warm a room all that much. You should check to see what other heat sources your apartment has. You may not need that one.

I’d like to, but this one’s quite literally attached to the ground. And you’re right, they don’t warm up the room at all.
