The sun rises in the east and sets in the west due to the Earth’s rotation. Our planet moves counter clockwise. As such, the sun appears to be moving around us in a westerly direction. Furthermore, the Earth’s axial tilt contributes to seasonal changes. This explains why the amount of sunlight varies throughout the year.

Because the Earth rotates from West to East....

Because the earth rotates in the same direction as the original planetary disk that surrounded the sun, that is, counterclockwise when looking down at the earth's north pole.

From now on believe EAST is actually West... Problem solved............... Peace

East is just defined as the direction in which the Sun rises.

Just think, right now, standing at the south pole, it just goes round and round.

Because that's the direction the Earth rotates in, west to east. So the Sun appears to go from east to west across the sky.

Because "east" is defined as the direction towards which the earth is spinning. EVERYTHING rises in the east (sun, moon, stars, even a slow-flying airplane).

    Because the Earth rotates

Anticlockwise in respect of the Northern Hemisphere

And Clockwise in respect to the Southern Hemisphere

Earth has been spinning since the collision of Theia and Earth and the Moon has acted as a Tidal Brake

Because of the rotation of the Earth

It rotates from west to east
