Insects ARE animals. You're making the classic error of thinking only mammals are animals.

Well, but you have to consider that they walk only 50% faster.

Because they're usually insects, and so they are much smaller than most animals with 4 legs.

They cover less distance, since they're smaller (and they're insects).

6 jointed legs is insects,,Arthropods with a different biology than quadrupeds. Most being mammals.

Insects use a form of hydraulic to flex their legs, as well as much faster nerve conduction.

Mammals use a different form of muscle that relies on nerve conduction, they can't move as fast for given size, not without the expense of great energy.

There is a tiny mite native to California, a human that could run that fast would be near twice the speed of sound. The prior record held by the tiger beetle in Australia.

The more legs you have the faster you will run but that also depends on the size of the animal, because for example if you have an insect which has 6 legs VS a dog , of course the lion will run faster because of having a bigger body, but if we VS a 6 legged insect with a 4 legged insect, the one with 6 legs might win.

    Does this make sense?

The thumb is the strongest digit on the human hand not the fingers for they have very poor grip without a thumb indeed. ( You see i lost a thumb in Sandland )
