Modern monologue  suggestions ?

Post 1950 and 1960

I am in my early 20's.

Finding one that I connect with has been a challenge, so any suggestions would be great.

You need to read as many modern plays as you can to find an audition piece that fits you.

    Playwrites you can research

    Edward Albee

    Harold Pinter

    Neil Simon

    Sam Sheppard

    Christopher Durang

And never audition with a piece from a script that you have not read front to back.

I always enjoyed Peter Cook's monologue as a coal miner who would have preferred to be a judge.
