    When I hired for a small medical service compsny those were the 3 big things. They wete all disqualifying

    Principally criminal record (especially violence or drug charges), credit check or other financial background checks, references, and large unexplained employment gaps. They also check academic credentials and licensing as needed.

    Nothing remotely negative, esp ANY infractions and license issues; then they look at level of education and qualifications and experience.

    Same as any other background check. They don't want criminals or drug addicts.
