Do both males and females start out as sperm or do males start as sperm and females start as egg?

All humans are created from an egg (ovum) in the female that is fertilised by a sperm that is created by a male. The sex of the child is only determined after a few weeks after fertilisation by the presence of X and Y chromosomes. In humans, half of spermatozoons carry X chromosome and the other half Y chromosome. A single gene (SRY) present on the Y chromosome acts as a signal to set the developmental pathway towards maleness. Presence of this gene starts off the process of virilization. This and other factors result in the sex differences in humans. The cells in females, with two X chromosomes, undergo X-inactivation, in which one of the two X chromosomes is inactivated.

It is really the sperm that determines the sex of the child, depending on the number of X and Y chromosomes.

This is the most amazing process to me. It takes the father's sperm entering the egg to start life which produces blood for the flesh. Sperm production starts in the brain (spermatogenesis) where the hypothalamus constantly monitors blood testosterone levels as an indicator of testicular activity.
And the Bible says, "there is life in the blood." Amazing God started life in Adam and his blood has produced many generations of humans. Scientists say "The Adam Gene" is in mankind and that Eve is the mother of all living humans. The Bible calls DNA "cords."

Neither exist until the sperm and egg fuse.
This is basic human biology that any intelligent person already knows.

The moment of conception is when a sperm fertilises and egg. It is approximately a 50:50 chance whether any embryo turns out to be male or female.

Neither, they both start as zygotes.

You asked this question this morning. I answered it this morning. Science has not changed.

Neither. Both males and females start when sperm is inside the egg.
