If the packet says 25 mins per 500g plus 30 mins and the ham weighs 850g how long do i boil it for?
- 9 months agoFavorite Answer
72.5 minutes (1 hour and 12.5 minutes)
Here's the math:
850 / 500 = 1.7 (how many times more 850 is than 500)
1.7 x 25 = 42.5 (ratio of minutes to grams)
42.5 + 30 = 72.5 (plus 30 mins)

Roughly 1 hour and 10 - 15 minutes should be about right.

Aw please don't boil it, it'll just come out salty and fibrous! Pressure cook it in a suitable stock!

It would not matter to me. I would not buy this ham, because the instructions to cook it are way too confusing. What was the ham company thinking?? GEEZ

Boiling time (850/500) times 25 and add 30 minutes = 72.5 minutes
