Will black bear become endangered because of the Grizzly bear expansion?

The government is spending money on increasing the brown ear population, but this may endanger the smaller black bear which is vulnerable against grizzly. Brown bear is known to prey on black bear sow and cubs. Why the government want to force the return of a dangerous species?

Nope. Black bears have coexisted for a long time with their bigger cousins. They coexist now in the Pacific Northwest. Black bears can avoid grizzlies by climbing trees. The larger grizzly is too big and heavy to climb trees.
