Is it mean to ignore a guy who knows me and my family locally because I don't want to crush on him anymore?

    No, it's not. If there is a reason it's better you two don't have anything to do with each other, then that is one way to handle it. It's only "mean" if it's a boss or some situation like that where you might need to just talk to a counselor about it, especially if they have no clue (as they shouldn't), and work through the thinking landing you to believe you have a crush.

    Ignoring problems doesn't end them. Initiating solutions does. Find the "root" of the thought and chop it down. Take every thought captive and turn it toward what's good and right :)
