Is working as PRN a good way to get your foot in the door? Flexibility?
I am a student so I was wondering if PRN would be worth doing for the sole purpose of getting experience? I am going into the field with minimal work experience in healthcare so I am researching ahead of time the pros and cons of different avenues later on. Does PRN allow for greater schedule flexibility?

At my job, we don’t hire PRN employees without experience. The reason is that we can give a full/part time employee orientation, and they will gain experience through working. A PRN employee has no expectation of working regular hours, so they won’t get the necessary experience by working PRN.
