How I can I get rid of this black line running across my computer screen?
One day I turned on my computer and a short, black line was at the bottom of my laptop screen. In the following days is has gotten longer and in some places thicker. What can i do to get rid of it?

It's just going to get worse, nothing you can do can fix it, looks internal damage.

Yeah that looks like a screen issue. The only fix is to replace the display.

If you have a Restore point, use that.
Computers usually set up restore points for you.

Your liquid crystal display is damaged. It needs to be REPLACED. It can not be "gotten rid of". It is not in a critical location... If it is an older notebook...it probably is not worth the effort to replace the screen. The screens are relatively easy to swap. The parts for it can be found on eBay/Amazon. The instruction video showing you what to do...can be found on YouTube.
Useless answer. This is a hardware problem that cannot be fixed through software methods.
