Can a clutch and flywheel be different diameters?

    The clutch is always smaller than the flywheel in a car.

    The flywheel and clutch friction disc are always different diameters. The disc rides in the center area of the flywheel as the pressure plate is bolted to the outer portion.

    Not when comparing them to what came out of the vehicle.
