I REALLY want to have a family. Is it wrong to date just for this reason?

I'm a male (almost 25) who REALLY wants to become a parent. I want to start dating, but is it wrong if I date a girl JUST because I want a family?

It is wrong. You could start a family with her, find out you two really don't get along and then separate which causes serious effects on the child. The child may blame itself for your seperation, and it can cause behavioural issues too.

A relationship can only really happen if you date. You would at some future point start to talk marriage or whatever the future holds (including wanting children, or sometimes not). Dating to find some random woman to have a baby with doesn't make for a good scenario.

Yes, it is wrong. Not because of the age but because most women date to find a relationship, for love and need to know that a family is all you're interested in. Perhaps you can find a woman with the same agenda, but you need to be upfront. And you should find a suitable potential mother. You don't want to bring children into the world with someone who shouldn't be a parent or someone you can't get along with. You're being short-sighted and its NOT something to rush into.

Well, you won't know who you're comfortable with until you start dating. You should definitely build a good relationship before you decide to start a family. Don't go into it with just that intention. You can let people know that you're looking to have that someday so that you attract the people who are also interested in that. It isn't something that has to happen right now. You should give it time, get to know a person, and then decide you truly want to spend the rest of your life with them.

It's not wrong, presuming you also want to commit to and marry the woman you want to have kids with. There are guys out there who have this vision of what their perfect little future family life will look like, and it sucks to date guys like that because it feels like he's just looking for some woman/any woman to fit into that role. WHO she is doesn't seem to matter nearly as much as the fantasy he has. While there are women around your age who would be plenty eager to marry soon and have kids right away, you have to pick your partner for who THEY are, not who you want them to be.

You can date for many reasons.

How else are you going to find someone to marry and start a family with if you don't date people to find someone you are compatible with.

Just be careful not to scare them off on the first date. Most girls would find it creepy if you talk about future and family together on the first few dates.

It is wrong if you are not being honest with the other person about your intentions. If you are looking to find a life partner to have a family with then dating someone who is wants the same is a good start.

Yes it is wrong. 25 is still pretty young. Live a little, travel, buy a house, enjoy life before settling down. Kids are expensive and a huge responsibility and will seriously limit how you live your life.

Baby rabies can strike anyone. Not that you will likely, statistically speaking, have much to do with the day to day rearing of your child.
