There's no whales that feed on salmon so WTF are you writing about? Most whales eat plankton. Orcas eat seals and sea lions. The sperm whale eats mostly squid and octopus.

    Subject: whales

Complete subject: these whales (the specific whales in question)

Complete subject is the noun that is the subject plus any modifying words that describe the subject.

    Subject

    These whales

    Verb (Predicate)

    feed

    Indirect Object

    on salmon and other fish

I'm not sure what you mean by "simple subject" and "complete subject", but my splitting the sentence apart in that way should help you out.

Don't take this as Gospel, I'm just winging it here, Whale simple, what they eat, complete.
