Only for getting the core out of a strawberry. You push the straw through the strawberry from the bottom end so it takes out the whole middle core plus the green at the top. It is very neat and clean.

Only when I'm at a restaurant (since they usually give you one without asking) or at the movies.

I only use a straw for a fountain pop where the lid has a "X" cut for the straw to go through. Especially if I'm going to be carrying the cup around (with the lid on, so it doesn't spill).

only use a straw when I get something at a fast food outlet. I know perfectly well how to drink out of a freaking glass or cup.
