My basset hound puppy LOVES eating used diapers. In fact that's all he eats. Sure he's blind, deaf and retarded. But it's worth seeing his face light up every time I give him a new poopy diaper.

To clean up the mess. They know that stuff doesn't belong in the house.

Dogs will often eat their puppies’ poop, but not poop of adult dogs. The theory is that it’s a protective thing — they’re trying to keep predators from finding the babies. Maybe when they eat diaper poop, they’re trying to protect the human baby in the same way.

    OR... maybe they’re just gross.

Most animals, humans included, struggle to fully digest proteins. So feces tends to be chalk full of what (to dogs) seems like a hearty, meaty meal.

Dogs are attracted to the smell of poop... all kinds of poop.

  • because they want to be like white people
