Crime novels always sell well, and most people I know like reading them, but nobody's going to know what the whole world is most obsessed with.

I don't think the world obsessed with only certain books at all. Out there, there are people who like Fantasy will read books by Piers Anthony, Anne McCaffrey, J. R. R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin and Terry Goodkind. For me I'm a fan of realistic spy thriller, and Tom Clancy and John Le Carre my favorite authors. But I also check out certain spy novels from other authors and once in a while read nonfiction spy stuff. Some people who have been fans of the Warhammer role playing game will read all the different Warhammer novels from all the different authors that write them. There also people that will read anything they think are real good and like.

Well I can keep on going, but you get the idea. That no certain books that the world are obsessed with. It be case of what we like are very diverse.

I don't believe the world is obsessed with any book. Our interests are too diverse, and few books are available everywhere. Some North Americans want to read the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale. Others "live" in Hogwarts. Others read every book about Trump or Brexit or books by and about Ernerst Hemingway or Jane Austen. Some like horror. Many teens like fantasy.

what books do you think ( opinion )

the "WORLD" is ( most ) obsessed with ?

it is NOT my opinion that populations of PEOPLE are OBSESSED .

.. rather Populations of people are GULLIBLE and indoctrinated

and others take advantage of that human trait

WORLD (noun) # 1 the Earth together with all of the countries

    and people and natural features

    # 2 a region or group of countries

PEOPLE and animals display behaviors and emotions

    OBSESSED : preoccupied with

or constantly WORRIED about something to a troubling extent

    SOME PEOPLE and groups ..

    . promote "SUPERNATURAL PROPOSITION "

and Books that promote such concepts ...

    . these concepts are documented

on temple walls of Egypt centuries ago

    clay tablets from Mesopotamia

many cultures Romans Greeks Vikings Druids

PROMOTED them .... for POWER CONTROL and WEALTH

and some cases to explain what they lacked knowledge of

    the workings of nature

Religious books, bible and koran, seem to have greatest appeal . Not to me.

"A Handmaid's Tale" has got be the most ridiculous story today. The liberals use it as their description of a Trumpian/Pencian world gone bad. They are not any different than conservatives who held up Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" as what would happen to out capitalistic world if socialism takes over.

The fact that the story (probably rather the TV show than the novel it's adapting) resonates especially well right now might have something to do with the current situation. Like the attempts to put in place outlandish abortion laws in certain red states. That's the GOP's doing, not Atwood's.

The world? That's a pretty big place with an awful lot of different readers ...

A reader on a farm in Peru isn't likely to share the tastes of a Parisian metroliberal.

Well, I could be wrong! But why don't you expand a little on what you're really trying to find out? Click on EDIT and post an Update.
