My sister named her identical twin sons Fred and George, after the Weasley Twins from the Harry Potter Universe. Is that a good idea?

I have a daughter April named after April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. (Hubby has been obsessed with the idea of naming his daughter April since he was 12).

That said, I don't like Fred as a given name. I'd love it, if it were Frederick or Alfred and Fred was a nickname. I really don't have a problem with George.

Weren't Fred and George kind of goofy? I kind of like that she named them after Harry Potter even though I don't really like those as names. I don't like George as a name very much.

It's better than Aidan and Jayden or Lyle and Kyle.

I hate Harry Potter. The names are fine though.

Two average masculine names that sound good to me. Enjoy your new nephews.

They are at least normal names. It's okay.

Who cares? It's her kids and she can do what she wants. Fred and George are decent names.

They are common names so I don’t think it’s too weird

Just two names. All names have been used a few (or many) times in the past. Thus, very difficult to come up with original names.

    Peace.
