do men and women who are gay and lesbian is that because they hate the other gender or is that just who they are interested in?

it has been 100-years since sigmund freud discovered the subconscious, and explained the oedipal complex. since then, there have been many schools of psychiatry, and there are about 16-major schools at present. a new school is the psychology of sex and gender, including identity consciousness.
if we look at our society and there are 330-million persons living in the USA, and 1-in-6 are gay (55-million) ; then, the odds are that there are more then 2-self-identities.
while sociology shows gender identity, gender roles, and gender membership; sexual identity, sexual roles, and sexual membership.
psychologists have observed over 147-different types of self-identity based on sex-gender differences; so modern psychology of sex-and - gender has 147-self-identities.
individual differences are 7-types of self-identity in gender; heterosexual, homosexual, bi-sexual, trans-sexual, inter-sexed, omni-sexual, and a-sexual. 3-types of sexual-self-identity : male, female, or inter-sexed (hermaphrodite). 7-types of sexual-orientation, which is self-identity based on sexual attraction: heterosexual, homosexual, bi-sexual, transsexual, inter-sexed, a-sexual, and omni-sexual.
when we multiply 7X3X7 = 147 types of self-identity.
to deny individual identity is to be a gender-nazi.
psychology of sex and gender.

On the whole they don't hate the other gender because a heterosexual doesn't hate members of their own gender, but some women do choose separatism in order to avoid being exploited by men.

It's just who they're interested in. Heterosexual people are interested in the opposite gender because that's how their brains were wired during development before birth; it's not that they hate the same sex. That's exactly how it is for homosexual people and their interest in the same sex.

Of course they don't hate them.
They are just only sexually attracted to people of the same gender as they are.
All the gay/lesbian people I know have good friends of both genders.
Why would you imagine they hate anyone?
