If your payment bounces, does it come back with more money?

If a check bounces you still owe the money plus the bounced check fee the merchant charges plus the bounced check fee your basnk charges
Example if I write a check for $70 to as merchant I still owe that $70 plus the $35 bounced check fee they charge plus the $35 bounced chedck fee my bank charges. So by bouncing s check for $70 I end up paying $140 plus my credit score tasked a hit

Less money when you add in all the fees you get charged, everyone wants a cut of this.

If I were to write a cheque and it bounces I get the money back but then I'm charged £20 the next month. If I have a direct debit and the money isn't there, either it would be taken and I'd be overdrawn or it would bounce and I'd get a £10 penalty. You'd have to check with your bank, they will all have their own terms.
