If Poland had been a fascist dictatorship in 1939, would Hitler have still invaded it?

I don't think anything would have saved Poland - they were where the Lebensraum policy was to primarily take place, they held lands which historically belonged to Prussia - and therefore part of 'greater Germany' and they had the largest Jewish population in Europe.

Being fascist was no guarantee of being friends with Germany. Spain was neutral, Portugal (although not truly fascist) was definitely more on the allied side of neutral and even Italy were increasingly thought of as a burden and a nuisance after constant military failures.

The simple fact is Hitler let *nothing* get in the way of German ambition. Being Germany's friend today was absolutely no guarantee that he wouldn't just invade you tomorrow because screw you. Just look at the USSR.

Probably. Hitler had plans to turn the Polish into slaves after he annihilated all the Jews.

Maybe not. He settled for an uneasy alliance with Mussolini's Italy because Italy was fascist. I can see where he'd OK an alliance with Poland were it fascist at the time.

On the other hand, Hitler broke more alliances than a bull broke china in a china shop. So no telling where a Polish alliance would have ended up.

Russia would have invaded it first. Seriously. They were wanting Poland before Hitler took it, and even tried to split it with Hitler at one point.

If Poland was like Italy, what would Hitler do? How about this one. If Poland would have been communist, would the Soviets laid back and let the Nazis destroy it. How many Jews would be alive today if the politics were only different.

Probably not if Poland had a dictator like Hitler. But German anger towards Poland was cuz Germany lost lot of its territories to Poland as part of reparations after world war 1.

Yes. Hitler wanted to conquer the world and install "pure Aryan race". He wouldn't have cared what their ideology was.

But he sided with Italy, and at first, Russia.

Yes, with their permission. There is no route to Russia without going through Poland. Look at a map.
