Why are British people old fashioned?
My girlfriends grandparents are English and live near London. When we stayed with them we had to do everything the “proper way” like dressing up for dinner (lunch) tea (dinner), using about 7 pieces of cutlery for each meal. On the final night we ordered dominos but they still forced us to use knife and fork.

well you must be her piece of rough then as they sound normal to me and only servants eat dinner at lunchtime

Her grandparents are, it doesn't mean all British are. Some are and some aren't.

So you simply meet someone's grandparents and criticise them - and 60 million other people - for being old-fashioned!!!

Most of us aren't.
A few middle-class and upper-class people of a much older generation may behave like that, but most of us don't.
If we go to a really classy restaurant, that's standard, and most people know how to behave even though we're not like that at home.

Pretty sure that has less to do with nationality and more to do with age/financial status.

British people aren't. Those two people aren't all British people. There are people who are old-fashioned, especially older people like grandparents, all over the world.

THAT IS HOW IT IS THERE...NOTHING terrible about that...

Most British people are DEFINITELY not like that, but British food is terribly stodgy, unless you like vegetables cooked for an hour in huge quantities of water, a pork chop fried in "white fat", and watery gravy reconstituted from a bottle. What they are VERY good at, though, is making tasty desserts.
