Can I study abroad even though my high school grades were horrible?
I only had a 2.0 GPA in high school, which I graduated seven years ago. I want to study for a few months in Japan. Will my low GPA prevent me from doing that?

If you want to study Japanese language, perhaps, you will be allowed.

Depends on the program. Some require a 3.0 others a 2.0. Talk to the administrators of the program you wish to attend. You may be able to teach English there, but they also may require a bachelor's degree for visa requirements, if just going is your ultimate goal. If all else fails take a couple classes at your local community college beef up your GPA and use that to enter into a study abroad program.
