Question about fluorescent lights?

My fluorescent lights ( 2 tubes) dimmed and found out it was the ballast. Bought a new ballast and matching tubes, F30T12. But when two tubes were installed, both lights lighted up for a second and gone, when only either one tube was installed, it's fine why?

There are a couple different wiring configurations for F30's, I would inspect the wiring diagram on the new ballast and confirm it is wired correctly.

Some fluorescent bulbs require an electronic ballast others do not. If you have fluorescent lights that have two pins on each side it probably needs an electronic ballast and if you did not get one the fluorescent light will not light up properly
