Why is there so much fear and ignorance when someone is unemployed especially if they quit to get out of bad situations or are fired?

Move to NYC and become homeless. The cold, hard truth is it's easier to get a job as a homeless person in NYC than it is as an unemployed person anywhere else. Someone will round you up and give you a job...

Well, without knowing the reasons, sure, its ignorance. The fear comes from experience.

The best candidates, in general, are those currently employed. If you quit, that means you weren't willing to stick it out until you found another job... If you were fired, that's a whole other situation and the reason you were fired is probably the reason I don't want to hire you.
