When is it time to replace a rug?
- Common SenseLv 76 months ago
A rug can be replaced for any number of reasons:
It has worn edges or holes in it.
It has stains you cannot remove.
It smells of pet odor that cannot be removed.
It was wet and now is moldy and smells.
You have changed your room décor and need an upgraded rug.
The dog had a day long bought of diarreah while you were at work for 8 hours.
Your son mushed two containers of hot pink Play-Doh into the rug, where it dried.
You failed to put down a drop cloth when you painted the ceiling and now the rug has paint on it.
The rug has worn out traffic pattern areas.
You rearranged your furniture and now there are filthy old rug parts showing next to new looking rug areas where the couch and love seat used to be.
The rug is old and was a hand-me-down when your mother-in-law made you take it.
Your daughter spilled a bottle of red nail polish on the rug.
Your maid accidentally sucked up a loose yarn from the hand hooked rug and now it has a huge bare area without any yarns.
You are just sick and tired of that rug.

For Vanity, when it ceases to look good or impress visitors.
For Functionality, when it smells, has holes, no longer is flat (develops ridges), or has spots or faded areas, no long protects the under flooring.
For Renters, Every four to five years or tenant change.
