If a defendant in a criminal case needed to subpoena a witness can a lawyer who isn't involved their case get a subpoena?

But represents them in different matters?

Any lawyer can ask for a subpoena, but only from the judge hearing the first case (not the other matter)

The JUDGE issues a subpoena, NOT the lawyer.
