Not true. Her books have been published in many languages all over the world.

    She's extremely popular worldwide.

My wife is from South Korea. The books were absolutely huge there. So, while I can't speak for every country where English isn't the language of discourse, there's at least one where she's very popular. Keep in mind that Rowling's "Harry Potter" series has been translated into over 75 languages, making her work available to a staggering portion of humanity. People in English-speaking countries read translated works all the time, so while the series is quite popular in English-speaking countries, it's not as though J.K. Rowling is unknown outside of the English-speaking world.
