Why is there a White House council for women and girls but no such council for men and boys?

Should only issues impacting females be considered?

I hate oversimplification, but here it's pretty simple: Feminists want councils to support girls and women but don't want to pay *ANY* resources devoted to men. As you see in other answers, they think general resources are mostly for men but don't seem to be able to say why women can't partake of them (and obviously women do).

In the long run, women take MORE out of social security than men do - how is that devoted to men? Women get more out of government funded medical resource (outside the VA). How is THAT devoted to men?

Women get more out of government generally than do men, so the idea that they need special departments within but men do not is totally BS.

Source(s): WAS a feminist until about 4 years ago. Then I started to read and do math.

Nope I personally think that is wrong. Some people on both the left and right have the idea that women are more important then men. This is not true and your right if they are going to have a counsel for women then they need to have one for men.

In society, women's issues mean a lot, whereas men's issues don't mean much or anything.

You guys never seem to understand the concept of one group "catching up" with a group that has had more privilege, more rights and more opportunities. Men have always had more than women. Whites have always had more than non-whites. Straights have always had more than non-straights.

The people who have had MORE do not need assistance in catching up since they have always been ahead. Hope this helps.

It's a gynoicentric society So, it's not a case of catching up, but of overtaking and getting special treatment. The pendulum is swinging too much the other way now, in any case.

This is like when kids get all huffy and say “Why is there Mother’s Day and Father’s Day but no Kids’ Day?!”

And adults answer “EVERY day is Kids’ Day.”

So every day is men's day? Is that why jails are overcrowded with men ?

It’s in keeping with the gynocentric nature of the U.S. We also have a bureau of women’s health, but no bureau of men’s health. It’s why there is a department of labor women’s bureau, but no DOL men’s bureau. Women’s issues are considered more important than men’s. It’s why we have a violence against women act, but no violence against men act, despite men being victims of violent crime more so than women.

    Society is gynocentric, accept it.

Then why do women live 5 years longer (on average) than men? If it was just inherent differences in their bodies, men would live longer because they wouldn't die in childbirth. Or education ... or mortality on the job or ...
