Why does the cursor blink in the google search box, when it would make more sense for it to remain solid so it is not a distraction?

so it is easily seen, and not confused with the letters l or I.

you must have some ADD if that tiny thing distracts you...

To let you know where you're going to be typing, and also to let you know where your cursor is/what you're indicating when you click there. lol.

Blinking is annoying, and solid is not annoying. So why would google choose to make their cursor blink?

Typing cursors blink so that you don’t think it is a lowercase L or an uppercase i

Most people did, that’s why it flashes. They didn’t make it do that for no reason. I don’t know anybody that gets distracting while typing because the cursor flashes

You would not know if your computer froze if it were solid.

Makes complete sense, though I must say I think I would possibly notice something else first.
