Would you support shutting down the Department of education if teachers There after got a pay raise?

If the department of education is shut down and all education is privatized, there would be no way to ensure that teachers got a raise. Monopsony could just as easily drive their wages down as it has done in manufacturing.

If you graduated from a US public school and are reflective of the skills they produce, instead we should fire all the public school teachers and start over.

"if teachers There after" = huh?

What does the Federal Department of Education have to do with public school teacher salaries?

Fortunately, I live in Canada where we don't have any issue with teachers payment, nor health care, so glad to be Canadian...

The U.S. should focus less on the military and more on its people

The median teacher salary in Canada is $49K CAD (with the exchange only $36K). That's less than they start at in my local district in the US. Nor did they do a good job educating you, since you don't realize that you are the biggest benefactor to the US military.

We have privatized enough. we already know how to fund and run schools. the debate is over- your side won, we have no education.

@zeno:While Mike is wrong, so are you. States do not fund the department of education or any other federal departments. The budgets are determined by the US Congress. Some schools, apparently like the one you attended, don't teach how the American government works.
