I obtained my driver's license in TX back in 1969, and a picture was required on my license that long ago. MOST states have required a photo of the licensed driver on a driver's license ever since the days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

Don't really matter, does it? If that is what they require, you have to comply. They shoot the picture there right at DMV. In my area it is done every 5 years because the face changes quite a bit in that period of time. It is now your ID to get into nightclubs and bars and buy liquor and vote...and used in mortuaries to identify the body.(should you be that unlucky)
