If people can stop slavery why can't they stop war?

Because they like men being shot but they don't like when you don't like black people.

Slavery is still going, its just more underground. People still get busted for human trafficking, or running an operation where people are forced to work for next to nothing.

Slavery has not...not...stopped. Girls are being trafficked as sex slaves here in the States as well as throughout other nations. Mauritania in Africa still has black slaves, owned by black slave owners. Boka Harum has kidnapped dozens of school girls and "married" them against their will, which is to say made them slaves.

Slavery is well documented in the OT bible; Moses for example freed the slaves from the Pharaoh. And in war, they took no prisoners back then except to use as slaves. The rest they simply murdered, man, woman, and child.

Human kind can't stop slavery any more than it can stop war. They are both natural animalistic conditions for humans. The predilection for slavery and war can only be controlled, not ended. So we put safeguards in place to prevent both, but they are imperfect safeguards at best and wars and slavery continue to happen.

People haven't demonstrated the ability to stop either slavery or war. The best we can do is negotiate (or threaten) a temporary end to one or the other in specific regions.

War is profitable. It takes lot of oil to fight wars. The oil companies use their windfall to build infrastructure and pay obscene executive salaries. Arms manufacturing is the biggest business of war. The manufacturing and peripheral supply businesses profit at rates that are usually illegal in peace time. War makes heroes. The politicians and generals declare themselves heroes and deserving of huge bonuses. Everybody gets rich, except the citizens. They do without and get to die fighting.

We, as a species, haven't stopped slavery, it simply doesn't exist in any western country (legally).

Wars will exist as long as one group of people has something another group wants or one group wants to be more powerful and dictate the behavior of another group. World peace will not exist as long as our species is on the planet, unfortunately (cursing at users won't change that, dear).
