How do I connect my printer to the Windows Scan app?

    The printer software available at the manufacturer's website may already outdate the software that came with the printer. That said, newer is not always better.

    You need to install your printer following the setup guide that came with the printer. After that it will appear as a printer (or scanner) and show up in windows Fax and scan program - type fax in the start search bar if you cannot find it

    Usually the printer will come with a software you have to install to add the information needed for Windows to see that the scanner is attached. Once that is installed you will be able to select it from within the app. If you can not, most printers include their own scanning application which is often superior to the Windows apps because it will be able to use all the features included with the scanner in your printer.
