How much did a pack of cigarettes cost in 1972?

Update:

My dad quit smoking cigarettes and switched to a pipe and cigars because in 1970 the vending machine at work went up to 50 cents a pack.

On military bases, they were 20¢. At gas stations in Ga., They were 30¢. And they didn't put a lot of chemicals and trash in the product.

It depended on tha state, because of different taxes. In North Carolina, a tobacco state, they were 25 cents.
