# Is this Answer correct and if not what is? (ideal gas laws)?

A sample of carbon dioxide occupies a 4.85 dm3 container at STP. What is the volume of the gas at a pressure of 116.9 kPa and a temperature of 16.5°C?

Select one:

a. 4.46

b. 4.08

c. 69.4

d. 33.4

I say it is a because i used p1 times v1 over t1 equals p2 times v2 over t2

Combined gas law ....

P1V1 / T1 = P2V2 / T2 .......... combined gas law

V2 = P1V1T2 / (P2T1) ........... solve for V2

V2 = 101.3 kPa x 4.85L x 289.65K / 116.9 kPa / 273.15K

V2 = 4.46 L

STP = 101.325 kPa and 0°C

(4.85 dm^3) x (101.325 kPa / 116.9 kPa) x (16.5 + 273.15) K / (0 + 273.15) K = 4.46 dm^3
