What are the most destructive bombs/missiles any country currently has that don't involve the splitting of atoms?

Bombs that could be described as "nuclear" or "atomic" all involve nuclear fission/splitting of atoms, right?

Apart from them, what is the worst thing that could be fired at or dropped onto a city or target?

    For many purposes bombs don't have to be very big, because with current technology they can be guided very accurately to a selected target.

    The most destructive I know of is the fuel air bomb. Spray a tanker load ( or several tanker loads) of fuel on an area. If it doesn't find an ignition source then drop one a little while later.

    The ensuing explosion sucks all the air from the region suffocating all living things. Then the fire destroys organic materials.

    With luck it can do a "Dresden" where the updraft created starts a vortex which makes the fire self sustaining.

    The result is similar to our "Black Saturday" bushfires where the heat output made nuclear weapons pale into insignificance.

    There are "dirty bombs" of radioactive materials that are spread by conventional explosive charge. But that is a splitting of atoms in the materials.

    Another "atomic bomb" type that does splitting is a neutron device. No flash of heat and air blast. Just fatal doses of radiation that kills all large mammals, especially humans. The terrain and buildings will be as before.

    An atomic blast at high altitude or in space will kill all electronic devices and power regulating systems.

    But non nuclear choices are many:

    A chemical weapon of various types. Poison gases or water borne nerve toxins will kill a lot, but maybe not everyone. Those started being used over 100 years ago. Even Hitler was injured by gas in WW1

    Biological weapons to spread diseases have been used for thousands of years. A catapult of a dead animal or human could send an attack over a defensive wall. That was common many hundreds of years ago.

    Super guns and cruise missiles can send conventional explosives into a city from a long distance. Targeting infrastructure for power, water, communications and defense forces stations would be done.

    There are also fusion bombs like a hydrogen bomb. But they are set off by a fission bomb.

    The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB, commonly known as "Mother of All Bombs") is a large-yield bomb, developed for the United States military by Albert L. Weimorts, Jr. of the Air Force Research Laboratory. At the time of development, it was said to be the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in the American arsenal. The bomb is designed to be delivered by a C-130 Hercules, primarily the MC-130E Combat Talon I or MC-130H Combat Talon II variants.

    The MOAB was first dropped in combat in the 13 April 2017 airstrike against an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – Khorasan Province (ISIS) tunnel complex in Achin District, Afghanistan.

    During World War II, Royal Air Force Bomber Command used the Grand Slam, officially known as the "Bomb, Medium Capacity, 22,000 lb" 42 times. At 22,000 lbs total weight, these earthquake bombs were technically larger than the MOAB. However, half their weight was due to the cast iron casing necessary for penetrating the ground (up to 40 m) before exploding. The MOAB, in contrast, has a light 2,900 lb aluminum casing surrounding 18,700 lb (8,500 kg) of explosive Composition H-6 material.

    The United States Air Force's T-12 Cloudmaker 44,000-pound demolition bomb (similar in design to the Grand Slam), developed after World War II, carried a heavier explosive charge than the MOAB, but was never used in combat.

    In 2007, the Russian military announced that they had tested a thermobaric weapon nicknamed the "Father of All Bombs" ("FOAB"). The weapon is claimed to be four times as powerful as the MOAB, but its specifications are widely disputed.

    The MOAB is the most powerful conventional bomb ever used in combat as measured by the weight of its explosive material. The explosive yield is comparable to that of the smallest tactical nuclear weapons, such as the Cold War-era American M-388 projectile fired by the portable Davy Crockett recoilless gun
