im East Asian male yet I get confused as Native American quite often, should I feel complimented that I don't look like a typical oriental?

I have long black straight hair. high cheekbones, thicker eyebrows, and tanned skin, square shoulders, I am also good looking so maybe that is the reason I don't get looked at as a typical Chinese. japanese, or Korean person

your average East Asian man has yellower and paler skin , rounded faces, slanted eyes, stiffer hair, and a more dorky looking appearance

Update:

I been told I look apache, or aztec,

some lady on tinder thought I was native as well.

my tenant jokingly calls me sitting bull or a savage

Well I would not consider it an insult. Most people have no idea what a member of the Aztec tribe light look like as there are none that are not of mixed ancestry. The same can pretty much be said for people of Apache ancestry.
