How do you keep home-made bread fresh?

    put it in a bag once its cool.

    Freeze the extra if you made more than one loaf.

    It's best on the same day. It won't be as good as the best you buy It.

    Well, obviously it's not going to stay fresh for ever, but you can prolong its freshness by wrapping it in a clean cotton or linen dishtowel.

    I just keep it lightly wrapped in the bread bin. Fresh / homemade bread doesnt stay fresh as long as packaged bread from the store, because it doesnt have preservatives.

  • Put the bread in a sealed bag (ziploc) and keep out of direct light (or put it in the refrigerator).

    In my house, it does not last long. But it is best to keep it frozen, not refrigerated.

    Keep and fresh are opposites. Fresh must be eaten immediately. To keep bread that you plan to toast you can freeze it. I keep English muffins in the freezer for weeks.
